A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Clay County Criminal History does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When a visitor sends an email, the message is retained as needed to answer it. It remains within the site team unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.

Its reference material explains how to approach the Clay County Sheriff, the Circuit Court Clerk, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's TORIS/TN-FlexCheck service, the Tennessee Department of Correction, and the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry. Tennessee Public Records Act access under T.C.A. §§10-7-503 and 10-7-504 concerns records held by government custodians and does not turn this private site into one. Visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report or a third-party criminal file, and the site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Independent companies provide the site's search boxes. Information submitted through a box is governed by that provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider chooses its own retention and disclosure practices, which Clay County Criminal History cannot control. Visitors should read those terms before sending a query.
